First Time FAQs

When are your services?

Sunday School for all ages - 9:45 a.m.

A.M. Worship Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m.

Prayer Meeting - Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Awana Clubs - for children on Tuesday nights.

Early Edition Awana is at 4:30 p.m. for Cubbies and Sparks in Pre-K thru grade 2.

Late Edition Awana is at 6:30 p.m. and offers programs for Sparks and T&T in

Kindergarten thru grade 6.

Signs Of Life Youth Fellowship for grades 6 - 12. meet regularly Friday nights 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

How do I get there

Winthrop Street Baptist Church is located at 39 Winthrop Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. The church is located near the Taunton Green on route 44. Click here for a map

Where do I park?

We have convenient parking located just outside our building. In the event that all spaces on site are full, we offer additional parking behind the church, you can access that lot from Cohannet St. On Sunday mornings we are also allowed to use of the parking lots at the Bank of America and Allen M Walker Insurance, both are located at the corner of Winthrop Street and High Street.

What do I wear?

Dress comfortably. Don’t worry about what you wear – just come prepared to have a wonderful time of worship and fellowship.

What do I bring?

A Bible will help you to follow along in worship and in Bible study. If you have a Bible, bring it with you to church. Pastor Ron Larson refers to the Bible often during his messages.

When do I need to arrive?

Sunday services begin at 11:00 a.m. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. Please Arrive 10 minutes before your desired worship/Sunday School time.

What can I expect on my first visit?

You’ll feel at home at Winthrop Street Baptist Church. Our greeters are eager to answer your questions or give directions. You’ll receive a bulletin summarizing what is going on at Winthrop Street Baptist Church. During the service, you’ll be able to connect to God through worshipful music, prayer, and studying God’s word. After our service you are welcome to stay for a fellowship time, which is a wonderful opportunity to better connect with the WSBC Family.

Where do my kids go?

During our Sunday morning service we have an excellent nursery and toddler room staffed with caring volunteer parents. We also offer two additional exciting kids ministries, one for ages 4 thru 2 grade called Children’s worship,and another for 3rd - 5th grade called “Kids Time To Worship.

Children’s Worship is held during the Sunday a.m. worship time. The children are dismissed to the Kindergarten Room half way through the a.m. worship service and they are greeted by their worship leader in the front of our church and led safely to their room to have a time of Bible stories, games, crafts, singing, and other fun learning activities.

“Kids Time to Worship” starts right after Sunday school; they meet on the 2nd floor in the Junior Room. This is a worship service tailored for kids; kids learn how to worship and serve the Lord Jesus and have fun doing it!
